Education
Pr. Tillyashaykhov’s PhD thesis was titled “Local Ultrahigh frequency hyperthermia in combination treatment of bladder cancer”, his DSc dissertation – “Surgical and physiological aspects of selection of urine derivation method after radical cystectomy.” In 2010, he received the title of Professor.
Scientific interests
Pr. Tillyashaykhov’s scientific and practical areas of interest include development and improvement of methods of surgical treatment of tumors of the bladder, kidneys, prostate and male reproductive system. He had developed new techniques for reconstructive and restorative surgery of the urinary system characterized by originality of technical performance and safety.
Due to implementation of high-tech surgeries in his practice, Pr. Tillyashaykhov has improved results of treatment of cancers of the bladder, kidneys and male reproductive system and patients’ quality of life.
Professional experience
In 2006, Pr. Tillyashaykhov became the head of the Department of Oncological Urology at the Republican Oncological Scientific Center of the Ministy of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He was the first oncological surgeon to perform cystectomy with different types of plastic surgery, radical prostatectomy, nephrectomy with removal of renal thrombus from the right auricle, thoracotomy, high-tech operation with creation of an orthotopic bladder, investration of the pelvic organs and implemented them into daily practice of treatment of oncological patients.
Between 2010 and 2015, Pr. Tillyashaykhov held the position of director of the Sh. Alimov Republican Specialized Center of Phthisiology and Pulmonology of the Ministy of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He greatly contributed to development of phthisiology service in the republic. Pr. Tillyashaykhov has supervised creation of express labs, procurement of therapeutic and diagnostic devices, 100 % supply of drugs to patients with tuberculosis. Between 2011 and 2015, he also headed the State Program on Tuberculosis Control. Due to radical reforms in phthisiology service, morbidity and mortality decreased significantly, and epidemiological situation greatly improved.
Currently Pr. Tillyashaykhov serves as the director of the Republican Oncological Scientific Center of the Ministy of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He supervises development of the Concept of Further Development of Oncological Service in 2017–2021, which includes almost all aspects of effective anticancer measures and is based on Uzbekistan and international experience in programs of early detection and screening of oncological diseases.
Pr. Tillyashaykhov has created a school of surgical oncological urologists dedicated to improving diagnostics and treatment of malignant tumors using cutting-edge technologists of experimental and practical oncology.
Publications
Pr. Tillyashaykhov has authored and co-authored more than 400 scientific publications including 3 monographs and 10 guidelines for doctors, Master’s students and clinical residents.

Pr. Tillyashaykhov is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the European Association of Urology (EAU).
