Abstract

The data about the second tumors (polyneoplasias) that were found in 53 out of 767 6,9%), patients with skin melanoma are presented. The most frequent was the combination of skin melanoma with skin cancer - 11 (20,7 %) patients, slightly more rare was primary multiple skin melanoma - 8 (15,0%) patients; skin melanoma in combination with colon cancer was noted in 4 (8,1%) patients. Such tumors as thyroid gland cancer, ovarial cancer and other organs in combination with skin melanoma were revealed in some patients. The second tumors were found to be more often metachronous: they were diagnosed from 5 month to 15 years after the completion of treatment for primary skin melanoma. Results of treatment of patients with polyneoplasias and patients with primary skin melanoma were studied in a comparative aspect, and showed that second tumors in patients with melanoma of the skin is a factor of worth prognosis.
