Professional experience
Dr. Lubchenko is an oncologist and a geneticist with invaluable contributions to Russian oncogenetics. She has supervised 12 completed and current scientific studies, research and development projects, and state contracts in oncological molecular and genetic research.
Since 1992, Dr Lubchenko has worked as an oncologist, conducted studies on genetic ovarian cancer as part of international collaboration between the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology and Royal Marsden Hospital (London, UK). Between 2000 and 2009, she was a senior researcher at the Laboratory of Clinical Oncogenetics at the N.N. Trapeznikov Scientific Research Institute of Clinical Oncology of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology and continued scientific and practical work in collaboration with the leading European and American oncological centers. Since 2009, she serves as the head of the Laboratory of Clinical Oncogenetics at the N.N. Trapeznikov Scientific Research Institute of Clinical Oncology of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology.
Dr. Lubchenko serves as a supervisor of professional postgraduate training (clinical residency) of doctors specializing in genetics and laboratory genetics. She teaches cycles of additional professional education for these specializations and a course on current problems in genetics of malignant tumors, basics and methodology of molecular and genetic consultations at the program of resident and PhD training of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, for undergraduate students, interns and PhD students at the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and as advanced training for doctors of other specializations.
Dr. Lubchenko has supervised 11 PhD dissertations.
Under Dr. Lubchenko’s leadership, the Laboratory of Clinical Oncogenetics conducts studies on heritable forms of stomach, breast, ovarian, germ cell testicular, prostatic cancers as part of international consortiums.
Scientific interests
Dr. Lubchenko specializes in the role of genetic factors in development of oncological diseases in adults and children. She develops, validates and implements methods of molecular and genetic diagnostics for determination of predisposition towards heritable oncological diseases and evaluation of disease prognosis and treatment selection in accordance with individual phenotype. She is also interested in development, validation and implementation of molecular, genetic and immunohistochemical methods in sporadic and heritable cancers for molecular profiling and treatment selection, as well as DNA diagnostics for evaluation of individual sensitivity and risk of toxicity during polychemotherapy. She develops and uses methods of genetic diagnostics for determination of predisposition towards several multifactor diseases: arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, thrombosis, thromboembolism, pregnancy and fetal pathologies. She also improves and uses scientific and methodological principles of medical and genetic consultations in oncology including help in family planning. Dr. Lubchenko works on interpretation of molecular and genetic data.
